Digitalization of transport observatory
CETMO defends at UN the creation of a digitalization of transport observatory
- CETMO has participated in the annual conference of the Inland Transport Committee of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe
- The initiative of CETMO has reflected the need for the creation of an observatory of the digital transformation of the transport, in which it is working
During the 81st annual session of the Inland Transport Committee of the Economic Commission for Europe of the United Nations held in Geneva, CETMO had the opportunity to present an initiative in which it is working intensely. After an analysis of the current transport context and the changes and innovations that the introduction of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) will bring to the sector, CETMO advocates the need to create a digitalization of transport observatory.
Digitalization of transport observatory: innovation and sustainability
The initiative of the creation of a digitalization of transport observatory that CETMO has presented to the United Nations is supported on two basic pillars that give meaning to the project.
The first pillar is innovation, since the main task of the observatory will be the detection of elements or processes of the ICT that have been applied or can be applied to transport.
Secondly, and not least, is sustainability, since the intention of this observatory is to analyze how these innovations in the digital transformation of transport can have an impact on the sustainable development of this one, both in its environmental, social, and financial side.
The topics that the observatory will address will range from automation of transport, to mobility services, connectivity, intelligent stations and infrastructures, blockchain and cybersecurity between others.
