Trans-Maghreb Multimodal Corridor (TMC) Action Plan. Objectives, Workplan and Multimodality Upgrade (V1)
Introduction.
The objective of this Phase II of the Trans-Maghreb Corridor Action Program is to facilitate the evolution of the TMC from a Transport Corridor to a Trade Corridor, to increase its effect on the economic and social development of the served and connected areas.
The phase II is organized on three analysis areas:
1.MULTIMOLALITY UPGRADE. To enhance the performance of the Transport Corridor through the identification, characterization and prioritization on the hard measures of infrastructural projects to allow and improve transport multimodality,
2.SURROUNDING ZONES CONNECTIVITY. To expand the potential of trade and social development of the TMC by expanding the surrounding zones served by the TMC, through the identification and prioritization of infrastructural projects to efficiently connect more urban and economic areas to the corridor, thus augmenting its capillarity.
3.CONNECTIVITY WITH NEIGHBORING REGIONS. To assess and determine actions and projects to connect with other regions and regional corridors, not only for the TMC to expand trade between North Africa and Europe but also to become the backbone of an expanded Euro-African supply chain.
The final report is organized in three volumes, each one dedicated to one of the three analysis areas.
Each of the three volumes is organized following the outputs of the project
